CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL RACE
1st year project (personal project for my year in 3D Technical):
'Bring a short story to life in 3D through pictorial representation'
THE STORY

This is the final race of the championship which takes place in the city. Rosso, the young pilot, faces Marco, the veteran. They are neck and neck in the standings and this race will determine the winner of the season.
It's a bright day. At the starting line, the drivers make their engines roar. At the kick-off, they take off.
Marco takes the lead in the first turn. While he seems to be in a good position, Rosso uses his boost and takes the pole position at the finish line. He dreamed of it even before he started driving, he is on top of the podium and celebration is in order.
Suddenly, a gigantic shadow falls on the city. . .
Elliot enters in his room. He approaches and kneels on his play mat to find his favorite toys. Many adventures await him.
In the end, it's all a child's play!

SCENE BLOCKOUT
MODELING
Training on cars: creation and optimization of a 3D real time model
Step #1: after references, creation of a modelsheet in Photoshop for modeling in Blender
Step #2: Modeling and work on low poly versions
Step #3: Proper UV unfolding before export to Zbrush (.fbx format)
Step #4: Creation of high poly models from the low poly ones, using Zbrush DynaMesh tool
Step #5: Baking high poly textures created on Substance Painter on low poly models
Step #6: Model other low poly assets and additional set elements with Blender
ENVIRONMENT
The blockout elements were then replaced by the models created. Here are some renders using the Cycles engine on Blender.
RENDERING & COMPOSITING
The Mixamo character Timmy and a few animations were used to render the shots.
The scene was exported in .fbx format to Unreal Engine. The aim was to create the shots and character animations using the software's sequencer (which is easier to manipulate than in modeling software).
Two images were used to add posters to the room:
